The 2014 Ram 1500 Wins the Motor Trend Truck of the Year Award for the Second Straight Time

Fresh off of our report about the Dodge Durango making some sales history, we've found more monumental stirrings under the Chrysler umbrella and this time it's coming from the heavy-duty segment.

The Ram 1500 has been declared the Motor Trend 2014 Truck of the Year. Any accolade from that publication is clearly a big deal, but the news doesn't even stop there. In fact, this is the second consecutive year that hauler has taken the prize. We'll let Edward Loh, Editor-in-Chief of Motor Trend fill in a few blanks for you.

"For 2014 we had a large and highly competitive field...," explained Loh. "At the end of the day, though, the Ram 1500 quickly rose to the top. Not only did it withstand our rigorous testing, it thoroughly impressed our judges with its vast array of standard and optional equipment... In fact it helped make Ram 1500 the Motor Trend 2014 Truck of the Year – and the only consecutive winner in the history of the award."¹
