Inspecting your tires is something you might often forget to think about when it comes to routine vehicle maintenance. A lot of people assume their tire will simply go flat if something is wrong. In fact, making sure your tires are in good condition will ensure that you're safe while on the road.

You want to pay close attention to the tread depth that is on your tires. It's normal for tread to wear down, but you want the tread on all four tires to wear down at an even rate. You should have at least 1/16th of an inch of depth left on your tires if not much more.

Your tread depth may seem fine, but rubber may be starting to break down. This would be shown by cracking or bulges.

If you have one or more tires that are constantly requiring additional air pressure, this can indicate there's a breakdown in the tire quality.
